چکیده

OPE constraints are studied as a means of distinguishing between the versions of the I = 1 vector spectral function extracted from (i) inclusive I = 1 hadronic electroproduction cross-sections and (ii) inclusive I = 1 hadronic τ decay data, with the goal of clarifying expectations for the leading order hadronic contribution to aµ = (g − 2)µ/2 in the Standard Model. The constraints are shown to, at present, favor the τ decay data, and hence a Standard Model prediction for aµ compatible with the BNL E821 experimental result. The relative role of the ππ and 4π contributions to the discrepancy between the integrated electroproduction results and the corresponding OPE constraints is also investigated, and the significance, in this context, of forthcoming re-measurements of the e + e − → π + π − π 0 π 0 cross-sections pointed out.

On the Leading Order Hadronic Contribution to (g−2)μ

Sum rule constraints dominated by the independent high-scale input, αs(MZ), are shown to be satisfied by I = 1 spectral data from hadronic τ decays, but violated by the pre-2005 electroproduction (EM) cross-section data. Determinations of the Standard Model (SM) hadronic contribution to (g−2)μ incorporating τ decay data are thus favored over those based solely on EM data, implying a SM predicti...

Using only independent high-scale OPE input, we investigate QCD sum rule constraints on two currently incompatible versions of the isovector vector spectral function, one obtained from electroproduction (EM) data, the other from hadronic τ decay data. Sum rules involving weighted integrals over the spectral function, from threshold to a variable upper endpoint s0, are employed. It is shown that...

Hadronic light - by - light scattering contribution to g μ − 2 ∗

We briefly review the current status of the hadronic light-by-light scattering correction to the muon g − 2. Then we present our semi-analytical evaluation of the pion-pole contribution, using a description of the pionphoton-photon transition form factor based on large-NC and short-distance properties of QCD. We derive a two-dimensional integral representation which allows to separate the gener...

This talk summarizes the recent developments in the evaluation of the leading order hadronic contributions to the running of the QED fine structure constant α(s), at s = M Z, and to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g−2)μ. The accuracy of the theoretical prediction of these observables is limited by the uncertainties on the hadronic contributions. Significant improvement has been achie...

Analysis of the Hadronic Light - by - Light Contributions to the Muon g − 2

We calculate the hadronic light-by-light contributions to the muon g−2. We use both 1/Nc and chiral counting to organize the calculation. Then we calculate the leading and next-to-leading order in the 1/Nc expansion low energy contributions using the Extended Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model as hadronic model. We do that to all orders in the external momenta and quark masses expansion. Although the had...
